Watched a guy eat a $900 mistake on a framing job in Boise and it changed how I write my bids
I was subbing some trim work on a house in Boise last spring and the framer was two days from finishing when the homeowner walked the site and asked why the master bedroom was 18 inches narrower on the plans. Turns out the guy had built off a revision sheet from a text thread and never checked the stamped set. He ate the tear-out out of pocket because there was nothing in writing. Now I put a line in every bid saying which drawing revision is the one we build to, and I make the client initial it. Anybody else got a clause like that or am I overdoing it?

Checking the stamped set is basic, making the client initial a revision feels like cover for sloppy takeoffs.
