Vent: the $38 laser level from Harbor Freight that I bought as a joke actually held up on a 30 foot deck

I grabbed it mostly to mess with my lead guy Dave, who has sworn by his $400 Bosch for 15 years, and we used both on a deck rebuild in Boise two weeks ago. The cheap one stayed dead on across 30 feet while his needed a recalibration part way through, and Dave just stood there quiet for a minute. Anyone else had a cheap tool surprise them like that, or did I just get lucky with the one unit?
