My "quick" drywall patch turned into a 3 day ordeal in Austin
I figured a small hole from a doorknob would take an afternoon, but the texture match on 20 year old knockdown plaster had me mixing mud five different ways before it finally blended in. Turns out the previous owner had painted over wallpaper in that exact spot, so the whole patch kept bubbling up no matter how much I feathered it. Has anyone else hit a hidden layer like that and realized the prep work takes longer than the actual repair?
