Chasing a tiny air leak ate my whole weekend

I spent two full days hunting a whistle in a duct run that turned out to be a pinhole in a flex connector hidden behind a joist. A buddy finally suggested I soap test every joint instead of guessing, and it took 10 minutes to find. Has anyone else burned a whole schedule on a noise that showed up smaller than a nail head?

Spent three hours once chasing a hiss that turned out to be my own bad hearing and a fridge hum next door. Soap test is the move, wish someone told me that before I tore apart half a basement.
