Went with the cheaper roofer in Kansas City and saved $3,400, reviews be darned
Everyone in this sub says never pick the low bid, but when I got two quotes for a full tear-off on my 1950s ranch, the licensed guy with 200 five-star reviews wanted $14,200 while a smaller crew quoted $10,800. I went with the cheaper one after calling three of their past customers myself, and the job passed inspection with zero leaks through a full spring of rain. Has anyone else actually gotten burned going cheap, or is the "always pay more" advice just something we repeat here without checking?
