Watched a guy at the Ferguson plumbing counter in Dayton get talked out of a $1,800 repipe by the guy behind him
I was picking up a $14 shutoff valve last Tuesday when the older guy next to me told the young homeowner to get 3 bids and check reviews before signing anything. Turns out the first company quoted him $1,800 for a repipe that 2 other shops said only needed a $90 section replaced. That line about "ask to see the last 5 jobs they did in your zip code" stuck with me. Now I want to know, what's your go to question when you're sizing up a contractor before you hand over any money?
