Walked into a crawlspace that reeked of cat piss, found a major plumbing leak I missed on the estimate
Client in Austin texted me 3 days after I finished a bathroom reno, said her utility room smelled awful. I went back, found a slow drip from a supply line I put in that was weeping into the insulation. Had to tear out the drywall and replace the whole run for free, now I triple-check every compression fitting before I call a job done. Anyone else have a tiny oversight turn into a nightmare like that?

Heard a guy say he lost $2,000 on a job from a fitting he didn't tighten enough.

It's wild how one small thing like that can bite you big time, especially when you're working on someone else's nickel. I once had a buddy who skipped using thread tape on a gas line fitting and ended up flooding a basement with water (not gas, thank goodness) because he overtightened it and cracked the joint. Now he double-checks everything with a flashlight like he's inspecting a crime scene, and he still gets teased about it.
