Hot take: the 1-star review guy who said 'get 3 bids' saved me $1,800 on a fence
I was reading through reviews for fence companies in Tucson and this one guy kept leaving the same comment on every page: get 3 bids, always. Seemed kind of pushy but I did it. First two quotes came in around $4,200 and $3,900 for the same 120 feet of cedar. Third guy walked the yard, noticed the old posts were still good, and quoted $2,400 because he only had to swap the panels. I went with him and the fence looks fine 5 months in. Has anyone else had a review comment actually change how they hire?

Did you ever see that old thing about always getting a second opinion from a doctor? Same idea I guess. My sister read some comment on a plumber's page saying to ask if the price includes parts and labor, and it turned out two of her quotes didn't. Saved her a couple hundred bucks when she picked the one that did. Funny how one random stranger typing the same line over and over can actually do some good. I try to read the 2 and 3 star reviews now instead of just the 5s, you learn way more from the middle ones.
