Oh come on, $4,000 is actually cheap for a whole deck job like that. You get what you pay for, and if the wood was already rotting underneath, no amount of paint was gonna fix that for long.

$4,000 for a whole deck job sounds cheap until you factor in what they actually did. like @piper_thompson31 said, if the wood was already rotting, painting over it was just a band-aid. but here's my thing - did they even pressure wash or sand it down first, or just slap on a coat and call it done? because if they skipped prep work, then yeah, that's on them. a legit crew would've flagged the rot and quoted you for replacement. so was this a quick flip job or an actual repair?
