Guy in Cleveland quoted me $2,800 for a new furnace, then his own tech said the part cost $140
I had a furnace guy out to my place in Cleveland last month because my heat kept cutting out, and he handed me a $2,800 quote for a full replacement on the spot. I almost signed it too, but I wanted a second opinion so I called another company. Their tech popped the panel, swapped a $140 limit switch, and the thing fired right up. I went back and read the first guy's reviews and found two other people saying almost the same story about getting pushed toward a whole new system. How do you all spot this kind of thing before the guy is already standing in your basement with a clipboard?
