TIL the county permit office works on their own timeline, not yours
Spent 3 weeks waiting on a simple grading permit for a driveway job in Austin. Called every Monday. Got told 'still in review' each time. Finally drove down there and stood at the counter. Found out my application was sitting in a pile because the reviewer was on vacation for 10 days. Total wait was 5 weeks for a standard residential permit. My crew sat idle for 12 days because of it. Has anyone else had to physically show up to get things moving with their local office?

Geez, it feels like everything nowadays runs on whatever timeline they feel like, not yours.
