That electrician who insisted on measuring everything with his boot
Had a job on a commercial build in Charlotte back in March where this old electrician, Frank, wouldn't use a tape measure. He'd just step off distances with his size 12 work boot and call it close enough. I caught him eyeballing a conduit run that way and it ended up 3 feet short of the panel box.

Boot length is surprisingly consistent across different ground types though.
