Swapped from paper logs to a digital app for my crew's daily reports

I used to hand write all my crew's daily reports on carbon copy forms, but after three months of messy handwriting and lost pages from rain on a job in Seattle, I switched to a simple app on my phone. The difference was night and day, I could track hours, materials, and notes in real time without hunting through a soaked clipboard. Has anyone else found a digital tool that actually cut down on your paperwork time?

I knew a guy who tried that paperless switchover and spent three weeks just getting the software to work right with his phone. Your mileage may vary but it's not always as smooth as people make it sound.
