Swapped concrete pumps mid-pour on a 4-story job in Phoenix

I had to make a call between two pump options last month. The first was a line pump that would have been cheaper but slower. The other was a boom pump that cost $2,800 more for the day. I went with the boom pump because we were pouring the 4th floor deck and the reach would save us 3 hours. It paid off. The pour finished at 2 PM instead of 6 PM, and we avoided overtime for the crew. That extra cost got eaten up by the schedule win. Has anyone else taken a hit on equipment cost to save time and had it work out better than expected?

I love when a bigger upfront cost actually saves money in the long run (even if my wallet cried a little when I made the call).
