Spent $800 on a drone for site surveys and it paid off in a week

We had a tricky grading job on a sloped lot in Asheville and the old way of walking it with a rod just wasn't giving us a clear picture. I bought a basic mapping drone, set it to fly a grid over the site, and processed the images into a 3D model. The model showed a drainage issue we had completely missed from the ground. Has anyone else found a piece of tech that paid for itself that fast?
