Saved 3 hours with a cheap laser level trick on a framing job in Tulsa
I was setting up studs for a 40-foot wall and kept getting thrown off by the floor slope. Grabbed a pack of shims from the truck and used them to level the laser base instead of leveling the whole tripod. Has anyone else found a random shortcut like that that actually saved you real time on site?

Grab a level, that's way too smart for a job site.

That's a solid trick. I've done pretty much the same thing with shims more times than I can count. It beats fighting a tripod on a crooked floor for sure. And @tessa_hill86, you're right that a level is the simple answer, but sometimes the simple answer takes longer than the hack. I get where people are coming from when they say just level the tripod, but on a 40-foot wall every minute counts. A lot of the guys I work with roll their eyes at little shortcuts like that, but they save real time when you are doing repetitive work all day.
