Remember when we had to call in a survey crew for every single grade check?

I was looking at some old photos from a site I ran in Phoenix back in 2015, and every other shot had a guy with a tripod and a rod. Fast forward to last week on my current job, and my super is walking around with a tablet running a drone feed and a GPS rover that gives him real-time cut/fill numbers. The switch from waiting hours for data to having it in your hand in seconds happened in less than a decade, mostly because the gear got cheaper and the software got way better. What's the biggest time-saver you've seen tech cut out of your daily routine?

Traded my old one for a red cross-line model and it sits on a mount in my workshop. That thing changed everything for leveling shelves and hanging cabinets. No more busting out the damp string line or worrying about bubbles shifting. Grabbed a cheap target card too, makes it way easier to see the beam in bright rooms. Honestly the biggest time saver is just leaving it on the mount and grabbing it whenever I need a quick reference.
