PSA: That cheap temp sensor I used on my last pour in Denver cost me $3,000 in rework
I was running a small foundation job off Federal Boulevard last month and trusted a $15 wireless temp sensor from Amazon instead of my usual wired setup. It read the concrete at 75 degrees when it was actually 88, and we pulled forms way too early. Next morning I had cracks running through two panels and had to tear out and repour half the slab. Has anyone else had a cheap tool bite them this hard on site?

That cheap sensor thing reminds me of the time I bought a knockoff measuring wheel off eBay and it was off by almost a foot per hundred. Took me three days to figure out why my layout was suddenly all weird.

In my experience knockoffs actually work fine if you just double-check them with a known standard first.
