PSA: I keep seeing crews skip the pre-pour checklist on small slabs.
In my experience, even a 10x10 patio pour needs every box checked for subgrade, vapor barrier, and rebar chairs. I saw a job in Tampa last week where they skipped the gravel compaction check and now there's a 2 inch dip in the middle. Has anyone else had to fix a slab because the crew thought the checklist was just for big jobs?

Exactly! We had a crew skip the vapor barrier on a small shed base, and the whole thing wicks moisture now. It's a total pain to fix.

Honestly, have you ever actually run a crew? For a tiny patio, checking every single box can double the time for no real gain. A 2 inch dip is a bad crew, not a missed checklist. Most guys know by feel if the ground is right, and overkill on a small job just kills your profit. Sometimes you gotta trust the guys in the field to use their heads.
