PSA: I gave my crew a four day weekend and our schedule got better

We were a week behind on a framing package in Austin, so I shut the site down last Thursday and Friday to let everyone recharge. When we came back Monday, the crew finished the whole floor in three days instead of the planned five. Has anyone else found that a short break can actually speed up a project?

Diminishing returns" is just a fancy way of saying my brain quits after lunch.

That's the law of diminishing returns in action. Pushing tired people just makes them slower and sloppier. A real break resets the clock.
