Appreciation post: keeping a daily site log in a $2 notebook saved my butt on a $340k job
I started jotting down weather, crew counts, and every verbal change order in a cheap notebook after a dispute in Fort Wayne cost me about $11k in rework last year. When the GC swore he never approved moving that stair header, I flipped to the page from March 14th with his initials and the time, and the argument was over in 2 minutes. Does anyone else keep an old school paper log, or am I the only one who doesn't trust an app to back me up when money is on the line?
