That EPA air quality map finally made my sister stop calling me a conspiracy nut
My sister has been giving me grief for about 8 months now every time I bring up the refinery over on the east side and how the smell gets worse at night. She kept saying I was just reading too many forums and needed to relax. So last week I started pulling the EPA's own air sensor data from the two monitors closest to my place instead of arguing with her, and I charted it out in a plain spreadsheet. Three separate nights in June showed spikes that lined up almost exactly with the burn-off flares I can see from my back porch. I sent her the screenshots with the dates and times and she went quiet, then texted back asking how to look it up herself. Not saying it proves anything big, but it's real numbers from the government's own site, not some blog. Anyone else here use the public sensor feeds to back up what they've been saying? Curious which ones you trust more, the EPA ones or the community-run ones.
