Spent $150 on a 'bulletproof' air filter and it clogged in 3 weeks

I bought one of those lifetime washable filters for my truck thinking I'd save money over time, but after three weeks it was so dirty my engine started losing power on the highway... anyone else fall for that marketing hype?

Yeah the "lifetime" claim got me too. I mean my truck's engine light came on and I felt like a complete idiot for falling for it.

Fell for the same thing with a cabin air filter once. Honestly feels like companies just slap "lifetime" on stuff knowing we'll never actually check the fine print.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I bought a "maintenance free" battery for my old sedan. Three years later it died on me in a grocery store parking lot. Turns out "maintenance free" just means you can't add water to it, not that it lasts forever.
