Just realized the "missing" evidence in JFK files was sitting in plain sight for 50 years

Yeah that's exactly how it goes with these government files half the time. I had a similar thing happen when I was looking up old FBI records on the OJ Simpson case a few years back. The whole time people were saying key documents were hidden or destroyed, but I found a bunch of them just sitting in a dusty box in a university library archive, not even labeled right. It was like nobody bothered to check the simple stuff because they were too busy looking for conspiracies.

Been in the exact same boat with old police records from a cold case I was poking around in @the_joseph. Everyone kept saying the real files were locked away or shredded, but I just went down to the county courthouse basement with a flashlight and found a whole box of them mislabeled under a different case number lol. It wasn't even hidden, just sitting there covered in dust with the wrong name on the outside. The craziest part is that the stuff in that box actually cleared up a lot of the rumors people were fighting about online for years. Once I posted pictures of the documents, the whole conspiracy crowd just went quiet because the truth was boring paperwork all along. Makes you wonder how many of these "classified secrets" are just sitting in some janitor's closet waiting for someone to actually look.
