TIL my old gaming mouse was the reason I kept losing fights in Elden Ring

I was stuck on Malenia for like 3 weeks in my apartment in Denver. Kept blaming the game, my build, everything. Then I borrowed my buddy's mouse for a night and beat her in 4 tries. Turns out my 5 year old mouse had a double click issue I never noticed. I was dodging, it was clicking twice, and the game read it as a canceled attack. Checked my polling rate too, that old thing was at 125hz. Felt like a clown. Anyone else ever had a controller or mouse silently mess up their gameplay for way too long?

Double click issues are brutal because theyre so sneaky, you just think your timing is off. How did you even figure out it was the mouse and not your muscle memory? I had a controller with a slightly drifting stick for months and just thought I was getting worse at aiming in shooters. It took a friend watching me play to point out my character was slowly walking sideways all by itself. Did you test the old mouse after you switched, or did you just trash it and never look back?

Nah @noah415, a bad mouse makes you worse at everything, so maybe it's actually you not the gear.
