Stumbled on some PC sales numbers that totally threw me off

I was just poking around on Steam's hardware survey thing last night, not even looking for anything in particular, and I saw that the most popular graphics card is still a GTX 1060. That thing came out like, what, 8 years ago? And it's still beating out all the fancy RTX 40 series cards combined. I run a small plumbing crew and we've got a 10 year old van that just won't die, so I guess I get the mentality, but it still blew my mind. Meanwhile all these console guys are talking about how their PS5s are pushing 4K 60fps on everything. Makes me wonder if the average PC gamer is just way more budget conscious than the loud people on forums let on. Has anyone else looked at those survey numbers and felt like the whole PC master race thing is just a tiny rich bubble?

Wait that GTX 1060 is still on top after all these years?

Oh man, tell me about it! I still remember building my first PC back in 2016 with a 1060 6GB, thought I was hot stuff. That card ended up surviving three of my friends' hand-me-down builds before one of them literally dropped it down a flight of stairs trying to move it to a LAN party. Thing still worked for a week after that, just with a slight wobble. Crazy how it just refuses to die, like the Nokia 3310 of graphics cards or something.
