Steam Deck made me question my whole PC setup from 2019

So I've been a desktop guy since college, built my rig back in 2019 with a 2070 and an i7. Spent maybe $1400 total. My buddy let me borrow his Steam Deck last week during a trip to Denver and I honestly played more games on that thing in 4 days than I have on my desktop in the last 4 months. The convenience of just picking it up and playing anywhere is wild. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should sell my tower and just get a Deck plus a dock for the TV. But then I think about modding and ultra settings and I freeze up. Has anyone else downsized their big rig after trying one of these handhelds? Do you ever miss the raw power or is the portability worth it long term?

I mean, I basically did this exact thing after borrowing my friend's Deck last year, kept the tower but now it just sits there gathering dust since the Deck handles most of what I play fine. Real talk though, you'll miss modding way more than you'll miss ultra settings, so maybe just hold onto the PC for a bit and see if the Deck actually sticks before you sell anything.
