Spent 4 hours trying to get 120fps working on my PC for one stupid reason
Built a new rig last month with a 4070 Super and a fancy 144hz monitor. Could not figure out why every game was stuck at 60fps in Windows. Turns out I left the display cable plugged into the motherboard instead of the GPU for four damn hours. Has anyone else done something this boneheaded with their setup?

lol bro I feel your pain so hard. Built my first PC years ago and spent a solid 45 minutes trying to figure out why my monitor was just showing a black screen. Turns out I plugged the HDMI into the GPU but forgot to actually screw in the bracket, so the card just slid down and disconnected itself. Did that little dance where you reseat everything and pray. You're not alone my dude, that motherboard mistake is a rite of passage.

Used to read stories like this and think "how hard is it to just read the manual?" (very easy to say when you're not the one sweating over a thousand bucks worth of parts). But then I helped a buddy build his rig last month and spent an hour troubleshooting why his CPU fan wasn't spinning - turned out I had the cooler bracket installed backwards. Felt like the biggest idiot in the world, but that's just how it goes. Every builder has that moment where you realize you skipped one tiny step and everything falls apart. Made me way more forgiving of these stories, for sure.
