Spent 14 hours debugging my PC's stutter and it was one stupid BIOS setting
Three weeks ago I noticed my $1,200 build was stuttering in every game, like constant micro freezes that made online shooters unplayable. I tried swapping the RAM, got a new PSU, even reinstalled Windows twice, which alone ate 6 hours. I ran benchmarks for 5 hours straight and the numbers looked fine, so I was losing my mind for real. Finally a guy on a forum said to check if my RAM was running at the right speed in BIOS, and it was stuck at 2133 instead of 3600. I flipped that one setting and the stutter vanished in 10 seconds after 14 total hours of pain. Anyone else waste a whole weekend on something this dumb, or am I the only one who skipped the first thing everyone says to check?
