Pro tip: that $200 I dropped on a 144Hz monitor did more for my aim than buying a whole new console
I used to be the guy who said a console was just simpler and that PC folks were wasting cash on gear that did not matter. Then my brother let me play on his setup at his place in Denver back in March, and within 20 minutes I was hitting shots I normally whiff on my old TV at home. So I went and spent $200 on a basic 144Hz monitor, way less than a console swap, and hooked it up to the PC I already had sitting there for work. The difference was not subtle. Games felt smooth like the console controller lag just vanished, and my headshot rate in the shooting games I play went up enough that my squad actually asked what changed. I still love my console for couch nights and split screen with friends, so I am not dumping it. But I was wrong that the screen does not matter, it honestly might matter more than the box itself. Has anyone else made the jump to a high refresh screen and felt it right away, or did it take a while to click for you?
