My neighbor's 2008 gaming laptop outlasted my brand new console setup

Last Saturday our power went out for about 6 hours during that storm, and my neighbor brought over his old Dell XPS with a GTX 260M. We played older Steam games at 720p on a small monitor, and it ran Borderlands 2 smooth enough to be fun. My PS5 sat dead in the living room because I had no way to hook it to a battery, but his laptop just kept going on a spare power bank. It made me realize portability and durability matter more to me than raw 4K frames, so now I'm thinking about building a small low-wattage PC for outages and travel. Anyone else get humbled by an old rig when their shiny setup couldn't even boot?
