My cousin told me at Thanksgiving that my $1,800 PC is 'just a console I have to build myself'
He said it while we were both waiting for the turkey in his mom's kitchen in Phoenix, and I still can't tell if he was joking or not. So is that the argument now, that consoles are just easier PCs, or do you actually lose something when you can swap out every part?
Man, a buddy of mine got the same crap from his brother in law last Christmas. His brother in law said the exact same thing, word for word almost, and my buddy just laughed it off. Then a year later the guy's console couldn't hold 60 fps on a new game while my buddy was running it at 144 on max settings. The console is locked to whatever the maker decides, but a PC lets you fix weak spots over time instead of buying a whole new box. So no, you didn't build a console, you built the thing consoles wish they could be.
