My $80 capture card died mid-stream and my console bros never let me hear the end of it

I was live streaming a boss fight from my PS5 in Austin last Saturday when the screen just went black. Turns out the elgato clone I bought off eBay overheated after 20 minutes and fried its own HDMI port. I switched to my backup laptop with an OBS workaround and lost the whole audience while I fumbled with settings. Anyone else have a cheap accessory sabotage your setup at the worst possible moment, or am I the only one dumb enough to trust a $80 bargain?
