Wasted $200 on a fancy curing compound that did nothing special

I bought this expensive penetrating sealer from a slick online ad thinking it would save me time on prep work for a driveway in Austin. After 3 applications it flaked off in 2 months and I had to grind it all down and start over with basic cure and seal. Anyone else get burned by a pricey product that didn't live up to the hype?

...but honestly that's pretty bad advice about Sika. Their Cure and Seal is actually a solid product if you get the right one for your climate. I've seen guys in Houston use Sika topcoats on commercial slabs that hold up for years. The problem is usually the prep work or the concrete itself, not always the brand name. If you used a penetrating sealer on a driveway that wasn't fully cured or had moisture issues, nothing's gonna stick no matter what you pay.

Skip anything that says Sika or Cure on the label, it's all the same cheap stuff repackaged.
