Thought my float was fine till a 20 year guy in Fresno watched me pull one pass
Two weeks back I was floating a 30x40 slab and an old finisher from Fresno stopped by to watch. He asked why I was tipping the blade so far over on my second pass. I told him it helps me push the cream around faster, and he just shook his head. Turns out I was dragging mud instead of floating it, and my edges were showing it the whole time. So here's the argument: is a float supposed to be dead flat with just the weight of the machine, or do you tip it a little to work the cream? Curious what the rest of you do on a hot day when the mud sets up quick.
