PSA: I stopped using release agent on my stamps and my texture got 10x cleaner

I was fighting stamp impressions for months at a job site in Mesa, all smeared and shallow, and I finally tried stamping dry with just a hard trowel finish underneath and no release at all. Went from muddy looking flagstone to crisp edges in one pour, and the homeowner actually asked what product I used, which never happens. Anybody else ditched the release powder or am I the only one late to this?
