Bought a laser level, now I question my old string method

My usual string and line setup worked fine for years, but last month I had a 60 foot driveway pour in Austin where the string sagged in the heat and I ended up with a low spot about a half inch deep. That took a full day of grinding and patching to fix, plus the homeowner watching the whole time. I picked up a rotary laser level that afternoon and ran it on a small patio job the next week. The difference was night and day, level in five minutes instead of fiddling with stakes and knots. I still keep the string in the truck for weird angles, but I'm not going back for flat work. Anyone else make the switch and find their old methods were just habit?
