Told myself I'd never use a label maker for cable management

Hit 50 labeled patch cables in the server room today and I gotta admit, it made tracing a bad line take 2 minutes instead of 20. Anybody else cave on something they swore was overkill?

Oh, that feeling when you realize your younger self was wrong about something practical. I fought buying a label maker for years. Told myself it was just another gadget that would gather dust. Then I spent three hours untangling Christmas lights because I had wrapped them up without labels the year before. That was the moment I gave in. Now I label everything from Ethernet cables to storage bins. It feels silly at first, but the time it saves is no joke.

My buddy Mike said the same thing about labeling his home network gear. He spent a whole Saturday tracing a bad drop last summer and finally gave in, now he's got labels on everything including his power strips.
