Switched from visual inspection to a thermal camera for board work

For like 8 years I just stared at caps and traces with a magnifier lamp, guessing what was fried. Then I borrowed a Flir unit from a buddy last month and found a hot spot on a GPU in under 5 minutes that I'd been chasing for 2 days. Bought my own compact model for $200 on eBay, best tool spend since my multimeter. Now I scan every dead board before I touch a soldering iron, saves me a ton of time on power delivery issues. Anyone else using thermal imaging on laptops or do you still rely on smell and feel?
