Remember when a bad power supply was a quick swap? I just chased a random reboot for 8 hours only to find a single pin on the 24-pin ATX cable had backed out a millimeter.

Has anyone else seen this on newer modular units, or was I just unlucky?

Oh man, that's the worst kind of ghost in the machine. I once spent a whole weekend re-seating RAM and running memtest, only to find a slightly loose SATA cable. Felt like a total genius, lmao. I haven't seen that specific pin issue yet, but it tracks with the cheaper feeling connectors on some stuff now. That eight hour hunt would have broken me.

Saw a post on another forum about this exact thing happening with some of the newer modular cables. The theory was that the connector housings aren't as tight as they used to be. Eight hours is brutal, man. That's the kind of thing that makes you want to throw the whole PC out the window.

My old Corsair cables from 2018 are still rock solid, @the_alex.
