Just noticed techs reinstalling Windows for driver issues they could fix in 10 minutes

I was at a shop last Tuesday helping a guy with a Dell Latitude that had no WiFi after a update. He was about to nuke the whole OS when I just rolled back the driver in Device Manager and it worked fine. I swear half the people in this field jump straight to reinstalling when a simple driver fix or a quick sfc /scannow would do the job. Why waste 2 hours when you can check the event logs first? Has anyone else seen this shortcut causing more work than it saves?

Had a call once where a client's audio kept crackling after an update. They already had someone scheduled to reinstall everything the next day. Spent maybe 15 minutes checking the sound settings and found the sample rate was set way too high for their cheap speakers. Dropped it down to 16 bit 44100 Hz and it was crystal clear. Saved them a backup headache and a whole afternoon of setup.
