Had a customer chew me out for using compressed air on his laptop fans
He said I was just pushing dust deeper into the bearings, and after looking up a teardown video for his model, yeah he was right. I switched to a soft brush and vacuum for laptops now, has anyone else run into this issue with canned air?

Thirty years of doing concrete work and I still forget that air compressors aren't the answer for everything. I blew out a buddy's gaming laptop bearings last year using 90 psi on his fans, felt like a total idiot when the fan started rattling the next week. Now I just use a little paintbrush and hold the laptop upside down while I dust it out. Live and learn I guess.

You ever try one of those electric air dusters? Way less scary than a compressor and still gets the job done fast.

@christopher952 nailed it. Those electric dusters are the way to go. I blew out a motherboard a few years back with a compressor and still feel dumb about it. The electric ones give you that steady airflow without the risk of wrecking bearings or spraying moisture everywhere. Plus they’re just easier to grab and use than hauling out the big compressor. Have you had yours for a while?
