Fixed 3 machines in one Tuesday and I'm still grinning about it
Last Tuesday I walked into the repair bench at my shop and cleared three tickets before lunch. First one was a Dell laptop from a guy in Beaverton who swore his drive was dead, but it was just a loose SATA cable I reseated in about 10 minutes. Then a mom dropped off a Chromebook full of malware from her kid's game sites, and I got it clean with a couple scans and a fresh browser profile. Wrapped up the morning with a desktop that would not post, turned out to be one dusty RAM stick that needed reseating and a good blast of air. Six years of doing this and days like that still feel like winning the lottery.
That "still feel like winning the lottery" part got me, I used to figure those quick fixes were just dumb luck and not real skill. Took me a while to see that knowing exactly where to look is the whole job.
