Watched a tender in Morgan City clamp a hose wrong and it cost us 4 hours of bottom time
Back in 2019 I was working a job down in Morgan City and saw a younger tender clamp a hose line way too tight against the rail without a softener on it. About 20 minutes into the dive the line started to chafe and we had to pull the diver up early, which cost us 4 hours of bottom time and pushed the whole crew behind schedule. The old supervisor walked over, took the clamp off, wrapped a piece of old rubber under it, and put it back on without saying a word. Since then I check every clamp on my line myself before I get in the water, no matter who set it up. Any of you had a tender make a small mistake that wrecked a whole shift?
