Saw a huge difference in visibility after switching to a new comms system

We were doing a salvage job in Tampa Bay last month and the water was murky as usual. I swapped my old hardwire comms for a wireless system from OceanTech, and the difference was night and day. Not having that cable dragging meant I could move my head freely and actually see the work area better. It only took one shift to notice I was finishing tasks way faster. Anyone else made a gear switch that unexpectedly helped with something simple like visibility?

Honestly that sounds like a placebo effect from buying new gear. A cable never blocked my view enough to matter on any job. Probably just got a confidence boost from the shiny new tech.

My buddy actually tripped over a cable and broke his wrist on set last year.

Remember how @beth312's friend got hurt. It's not just about blocking your view. On a busy set, a cable can be a real trip hazard for anyone walking through, not just the person holding the camera. Someone carrying heavy gear or an actor moving to their mark isn't looking at their feet. That's when a loose cable becomes a safety problem, not just a filming one. A clean floor is about preventing those accidents before they happen.
