Had a seal pop loose at 50 feet near the Galveston pier last Saturday

I was doing a routine hull inspection on a shrimp boat when my left wrist seal just gave way. Water came rushing in so fast I thought I was gonna lose the drysuit. Had to abort the dive and swim up with one arm pinned to my chest like a dork. The deckhand laughed so hard he almost dropped the ladder on my head. Anyone else ever had a seal fail at the worst possible moment?

Honestly that's rough, losing a seal at depth is no joke especially when you're on a routine inspection. Tbh I've never had a drysuit fail on me but I've seen enough guys come up looking like drowned rats to know how scary that must have been. Ngl your deckhand sounds like a real character, at least you can laugh about it now.

Wait, your deckhand said he wanted to keep his "good" coffee from getting wet while you were actively flooding? @logan648, that's insane. I was on a boat once where a guy lost his seal and three of us had to wrestle him back onto the ladder while he was screaming about his new boots. It's wild how people's brains latch onto the weirdest things when the panic hits.
