Stuck on costume designs for my X-Men fan comic

I'm working on a fan comic where I created a new mutant team. Their powers are set, but I keep redoing the costume sketches. I want the outfits to feel modern without losing that classic superhero vibe. What tips do you have for making costumes that pop on the page?

You're still redoing the sketches after all this time? Endless tweaks can blur what made the designs good in the first place. Lock down a simple color palette and clean lines to make them pop.

I limited my team to three colors per costume, which @patel.casey is right about for keeping designs clear. Strong shapes read better than busy details on the page.

Three colors is a solid rule, but sometimes a fourth accent can really make a design sing without adding clutter. How do you decide when to break your own rules?
