Spent 4 hours trying to bag and board a silver age comic without damaging the spine

I kept bending the cover crease trying to get it into a standard bag, finally figured out you gotta slide the board in first then the comic goes in at an angle. What dumb trick took you way too long to figure out with older books?

Oh man, I feel your pain. It took me way too long to learn that you gotta be gentle with those old staples or they'll just snap right off. My first time trying to re-bag a Flash #123, I cracked the spine so bad I actually yelled out loud. Now I take a deep breath and treat it like I'm handling a baby bird or something. My wife walked in on me talking to a comic once, telling it "easy easy easy" while I slid the board in. Definitely my peak collector moment right there.
