Seeing the new X-Men movie with my friend who never read the comics
We went to the theater on Friday and he kept asking me who everyone was. I tried explaining the whole Krakoa era from the last few years of comics, but it was too much. Then I just said 'think of it like a big mutant island nation' and he got it right away. Has anyone else had to find a simple way to explain a huge comic story to someone new?

That "one sentence that makes it click" thing is so true. I tried to explain the whole Clone Saga to my cousin once and just made it worse. Finally I just said "it's a long story about a fake Spider-Man" and he stopped asking questions. Sometimes the simple version is all they actually want.

Yeah, that's the only way to do it. You gotta find the one sentence that makes the whole thing click.
