My signed copy of The Dark Knight Returns got ruined at a con in Chicago

Honestly, I was at a comic con in Chicago last fall and this guy bumped my elbow while I was holding my signed Frank Miller book. My coffee went all over the cover. I just stood there frozen for a second. I ended up carefully blotting it with a napkin and letting it dry flat in my hotel room, but the stain is still there. Has anyone else had a disaster with a prized book and found a good way to fix it?

Four bucks says that coffee stain actually increased the value because now it's a one-of-a-kind hybrid between a comic and a Jackson Pollock painting. But seriously, I'd try a tiny dab of dish soap on a Q-tip on the back of the stain first before doing anything drastic like sending it to a pro. Worst case scenario you just make it smell like dawn and have a slightly different stain.

Did you try reaching out to a pro book restorer? Some of them can work magic on stains.

That "work magic" line is so true. I saw a video once where they fixed a book that looked completely ruined, water damage and everything. It's crazy what they can do. Definitely worth looking into if the book means a lot to you. Some stains you just can't fix yourself without making it worse.
